While each neighborhood has unique needs, patterns are emerging that will be featured in our zine:

COMMUNITY OWNERSHIP New Yorkers believe residents should have a voice in how digital systems are designed, deployed, and governed in their neighborhoods.

CULTURAL PRESERVATION Our digital systems should preserve community memories while respecting privacy and protecting vulnerable members.

EQUITABLE ACCESS Security should never be a barrier to those who need access most.

DISTRIBUTED POWER Top-down systems often fail communities; distributed approaches that share power tend to be more resilient.
